Act NOW to Stop Maryland Politicians from Hurting Children

In Maryland, possession of child pornography is a misdemeanor, like jaywalking or driving over the speed limit.  Because the crime is categorized as a misdemeanor, child sexual predators have no fear of being caught with the contraband; and because they have no fear, the market demand for new images is huge; and because the market demand is huge, child pornographers everywhere have a huge monetary incentive to rape more children, to create more product.  Judiciary Chairman Vallario is blocking at least 29 House members who want stronger laws.  The only legislation Vallario will allow out of his committee is a weak and watered down bill (H.B. 285) that keeps child pornography a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine.  Tell Maryland House Speaker Michael Busch and Majority Leader Kumar Barve to protect children, and that you will hold them responsible when you next vote.  TELL THEM TO MAKE POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY A FELONY.
